This spindle came about as my grandson, the son of Monique and Cory, had noticed the Damsel Monique and that it was named for his Mother. Ethan has been making beds, cleaning any mess he finds, and generally being quite a marvelous little boy. He secretly confided to his mother that he is trying to get on my "good side" so I will name a spindle after him. How can I refuse this entreaty? Logically it occurred to me that a very small version of the Damsel Monique would create a spindle we do not have, a spindle which is truly tiny and light. Ethan's spindle is identical to the Damsel Monique except it is designed with a two inch whorl, 6 inch shaft and weighs .2 to .4. It is a mere butterfly wing, balanced, fast and light as can be. They are pretty and petite and I have been having such fun making them in all manner of combinations. As a natural extension of the Damsel Monique, naming it Ethan's Spindle ties the bow on this present to my very special Grandson Ethan Jakob Butcher.
